PEAT – Post-initial Education in Advanced Therapeutics

How can life sciences professionals stay up to date in a rapidly evolving field? The PEAT project (Post-initial Education in Advanced Therapeutics) develops a flexible and modular training program in advanced therapeutics. Supported by funding from PharmaNL’s Human Capital Growth program line, PEAT aims to create future-proof education that directly meets the needs of the professional field.

PEAT is a collaboration between Radboudumc and HAN University of Applied Sciences. Led by Roland Brock (Radboudumc) and Adinda Diekstra (HAN), the project develops four English-language courses covering RNA therapeutics, protein therapeutics, drug delivery, and advanced model systems. Each course consists of six to seven half-day modules, which can be taken individually or combined into a full course. Modules are offered both in-person and as e-learning, enabling flexible participation, including from international participants.

PEAT’s strength lies in its modular structure and direct applicability. The training is designed so that modules can be used independently, for example in company onboarding programs. This allows organizations to respond quickly to current knowledge needs without being dependent on fixed course schedules. The content is aimed at professionals in drug discovery and pharmaceutical production with diverse educational backgrounds.

After the pilot phase, the courses will be fully integrated into the existing offerings of HAN and Radboudumc. This creates a sustainable training platform that continually connects education and the professional field, contributing to a strong and adaptable workforce in pharma and life sciences.

Goal

To develop and sustainably embed flexible, modular education in Advanced Therapeutics, enabling life sciences professionals to continuously update their knowledge and skills and apply them directly in practice.
